Company HistoryPelican Paper was founded in 1985 to support the BCT (Business Cards Tomorrow) franchises in North America with premium paper and packaging/printing supplies. The first warehouse/distribution center was in Neenah, Wisconsin.
Shortly after start-up, it became apparent that paper buyers needed a variety of cut sizes. Converting and packaging equipment was added, which provided Pelican a means of customizing the paper products sold.
Since then, Pelican Paper grew quickly into a large company with distribution centers in the Eastern, Western, and North Central United States. Its large purchasing power made it possible for Pelican to offer premium papers at prices below the competition.
In 2007, Pelican began offering its products and services to all paper buyers on the Internet. By expanding its purchasing power, selling online, and avoiding the cost of traditional, commissioned salespersons, Pelican is able to offer high quality papers at very competitive prices.
Customers have asked why we changed our strategy from selling exclusively to the BCT franchises to selling to all paper buyers. The answer is actually quite simple. Expanding our business to all paper buyers increased our purchasing power and significantly drove down our costs. This enabled us to offer you high quality paper selections at very competitive prices.
